Tips for hold'em Poker
Before you start playing it is important to know the value of your cards. If you've never played poker before it's best to read through the rules of hold'em poker. Don't forget to have a look at our hand rankings so you learn the several combinations possible.
Below you'll find some possible starting hands. Hands from group 1 are the best possible cards you can get. The chance of getting 2 aces is 220/1, this is of course the same for any other pocket pair. A pair in your hands is called a pocket pair. The hands in group 1 are extremely powerful but not unbeatable! Lets assume you get AA (two aces, the best possible hand) against someone holding 88, your chances of winning this hand is 82%. But there is still a chance for you to lose against the underdog. Don't focus on one single hand, poker is about winning on the long term. If you play it the correct way and this situation would occur 100 times, you would win about 82 times. Losing with a strong hand is always very painful and it stays in your memory, but don't let it influence your game.
Poker is a skill game, but luck is also part of it. It is your task as an experienced player to reduce the luck of your opponent to a minimum. Try to think on the long term. Luck is short term, pocket 8's wont keep on beating your pocket aces. Sometimes you'll have one bad beat after the other, stay calm in these situations. It might be a good idea to take a break to clear your mind. One bad beat can severly influence your game which will make you lose even more.
If you're a beginner it's best to follow some basic strategy. Raise or bet with good/strong cards and fold with bad ones. Don't try fancy games and think 3 steps ahead, your opponent might just think 1 step ahead.
3 simple rules to remember:
1. Learn the value of your hands.
2. Use the advantage of your positon: acting first or last.
3. Learn fo fold your cards

Type of players :
Loose-Passive:
A "loose-passive" player is someone that plays a lot of hands and he keeps on calling. Even when het gets very strong hands he just calls instead of raising. This type of player is very weak and they show little or no power: sitting ducks!
Loose-Aggressive:
Loose-aggressive players love action, they keep on betting and raising and try to intimidate their opponent. It's very hard to put this type of player on a hand. They're unpredictable and you need to be careful in case he really gets a good hand.
Tight-Passive:
Een tight-passive player is known as a
"rock", these are players that only play very strong hands but very passive. They usually just call and are afraid to raise their strong hands.
Tight-Aggressive:
You want to be this type of player. You should play a select number of hands, but when you do come into a pot you play it agressivly. You don't let people walk over you. Show who's the strongest at the table!
Luck comes and goes, but your knowledge stays!
